Hatchet 3 is terrible? (Decker Shado film review)

Wiki Article

Hatchet 3 was the horror film of the Hatchet trilogy. It tells the story of Victor Crowley, his murderous rampage through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn portrays Deputy Winslow, Rileah vanderbilt portrays Misty.

The film's main strength lies in its use of practical special effects. Hatchet 3 uses a majority of practical makeup effects and sets. This is different from many horror movies nowadays that heavily rely on CG effects. It also features several truly terrifying moments.

Kane Hodder is a standout among the cast and is a formidable villain. It's like an '80s slasher movie and the dialogue is a bit too funny and snarky. Additionally, there are some genuinely funny moments throughout, which provide a comical contrast against all of the heart-wrenching action.

However because of the small budget (reportedly only $1 million) most locations used are repeats from earlier films in the series. The same boat house was featured two times within the movie and a lot of the film appears to be a re-use from previous films in the series. Hatchet or Hatchet II may find it familiar, and this can lead to the film feeling almost too familiar.

In the end, Hatchet 3 was very enjoyable. I found it to be remarkably similar to other entries in this series. However, Hatchet (click now to see updates) 3 provided lots of gory thrills and entertaining performances from its actors.
